Full text of the post (2026-04-09, read through the fxtwitter mirror because x.com returns 402): "Fleet closed an unannounced $45M Series A at $725M. Led by insiders Sequoia, Bain, Menlo, SVA. RR grew from $1M 6 months ago -> $63M RR now -> $160M next Q." Runtime Wire repeated the claim on 2026-06-01 (updated 2026-08-17) and says the figures are source-based and unconfirmed by Fleet or its investors. Four days later, on 2026-04-13, The Information reported the round as still 'in talks' at $50M/$750M. Fleet's about page and X bio still list only Sequoia, Menlo and SV Angel.
Why it matters: If true, the round the baseline lists as 'in talks' has closed. The only source is an anonymous account, it conflicts with The Information's later 'in talks' report, and the company has not confirmed it. Treat it as unconfirmed.

For researchers

Fleet has no paper of its own. Its CEO and another Fleet staffer co-built the 'Printing Machines' benchmark (2026-01-28), which tests iterative drawing and visual reasoning and reports qualitative failures for frontier models. Code was promised but not yet linked.
Harbor is not a Fleet original: fleet-ai/harbor is a fork of harbor-framework/harbor. fleet-ai/harbor-train is a SkyRL + SkyPilot GRPO training layer for Harbor environments.
The public GitHub shows Fleet working with open RL stacks: forks of SkyRL, Miles, OpenEnv, zeroboot (Firecracker VM sandboxes), and of the mcp-bench, cadgenbench and ServiceNow EnterpriseOps-Gym benchmarks, plus a nightly arXiv scraper for RL and environment-simulation papers.
The OpenEnv README on Hugging Face lists Fleet AI as a current technical committee member, alongside Meta-PyTorch, Reflection, Unsloth, Modal, Prime Intellect, Nvidia, Mercor and Hugging Face. The date Fleet joined is not given.

The Information reported it four days later as 'in talks' at $50M/$750M, and Synaptic (Aug 2026) still lists only the $15M seed. Treat the Series A as unconfirmed.

A benchmark of iterative visual reasoning through drawing. Agents do inpainting (completing existing drawings) and replication (recreating an input image) with drawing tools, which tests perception, planning and precise tool execution over many steps. It was published by 'Printing Machines Lab'. The lab's team page lists Fleet CEO Nicolai Ouporov and Deniz Zorlu (both Fleet AI) with James Zhou (ElevenLabs) and Jerry Zhou (Rox), and contributor inquiries go to nic@fleet.so. It is affiliated with Fleet, not branded as a Fleet product. Code, task suite and harness are announced but not yet linked.

Qualitative only, no scores published on the page. The lab says frontier models (Claude 4.6 Opus, Gemini 3 Flash, Gemini 3.1 Pro, GPT 5.2, Grok 4.1 Fast, Kimi 2.5) "failed miserably and in surprising ways". Failure modes include repeated spiraling, misidentified objects and poor geometric precision, with errors compounding over steps.

How we verified this

2026-10-05 refresh: I opened every draft source or its mirror. The identity is confirmed: GitHub fleet-ai, team@fleet.so and X @fleet_ai all match fleetai.com. The main correction is the funding story. The $45M/$725M "closed" Series A comes from one anonymous investor post dated 2026-04-09, which I verified verbatim through a mirror. Runtime Wire repeats it but says it is unconfirmed. Credible press (The Information, 2026-04-13) later called the round "in talks" at $50M/$750M, and Fleet's site, its X bio, Sacra and Synaptic (Aug 2026) still show only the seed investors. The round is therefore kept as reported and unconfirmed, not as a closed fact. I dropped two out-of-window or undated news items (the Havemeyer post and the OpenEnv committee listing) and moved their facts to notes. I also dropped Havemeyer from the founders list: he is not a founder, and his photo is a group shot. I removed the unsourced surname and Kona claims for co-founder Andrew, whom his X bio and Fleet's blog confirm. Nic Ouporov's headshot loads from his own site and shows one person. Missed by the researcher: the Fleet-affiliated Printing Machines benchmark (Jan 2026), the EnterpriseOps-Gym fork, and that harbor-train is a SkyRL layer. My web-search quota was exhausted, so I swept for missed news with Google News RSS and Bing instead. I found no other funding, acquisition, frontier-lab partnership or launch in the window, but a news item I missed cannot be ruled out.
